Sketch 2 is currently on hiatus. Check back again soon!

An 8-week course designed to guide intermediate sketch writers and performers through the process of generating sketches, from drafting and editing scripts to showcasing their work on stage.

Students will work for 4 weeks writing and editing sketches and rehearse those sketches for 4 additional weeks, culminating in a live performance. Bandit Theater will bring a multidisciplinary approach to sketch comedy generation, using methods and techniques that will let students of any level or background find a way to get inspired and get writing!

This class will focus on idea generation, writing, editing, blocking and performing! Students will learn while having a blast, have written sketches to take home, and the opportunity to see those sketches be brought to life. We will emphasize game-based sketch theory, individual and group-based writing, directing and blocking, giving performers and writers alike tools they can apply to any creative endeavor.

Open to students who have completed Sketch 1 or have prior sketch writing and performance experience at other theaters.

Sketch Greenhouse is currently on hiatus. Check back again soon!

Sketch Greenhouse is a place where comedy writers can nurture and cultivate their Sketch Buds until they blossom into beautiful Sketch Geraniums.

A weekly drop-in workshop, Sketch Greenhouse provides structure and guidance for writers seeking inspiration and community. The workshop will run 90-minutes, and include brief instruction, dedicated time to meet and write, and space for sketch readings, with opportunities for feedback and collaboration.

All are welcome, regardless of experience or background. Newcomers will learn the basics and get writing, while seasoned sketch veterans can share their work and connect with other writers and performers. The guiding principle will be generation, using the time and resources from Sketch Greenhouse to get new, short sketches on the vine and ready to harvest. Whatever your comedy goals and dreams may be, Sketch Greenhouse will be a supportive place to let your idea seeds bloom.
